PostLake vs bundle.social

The bundle.social alternative
that scales down.

bundle.social is a serious developer-first API with a wide network list, a CLI and an MCP server. The gap it leaves is at the bottom: after a small free plan, the next step up is a large one. PostLake is built for everything in between.

No card for the free tier · 20 credits a month · full MCP access

Short version: choose bundle.social if you need the widest network coverage and you are already at a volume that justifies their paid tier. Choose PostLake if you are below that, or if you want control over what each agent may do.

Why developers & agents pick PostLake

Start free, pay for what you post

A free tier with 20 credits, no card. Then usage-based credits, one per post (X costs more, since X is the only network that charges us). Low-volume projects pay a fraction of a flat monthly seat.

Agent-first, not agent-also

A hosted MCP server built for agents, idempotency keys so a retrying agent never double-posts, and one normalised response an agent can reason over. Built for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client.

Managed keys, no app setup

PostLake manages every platform connection for you, X included. No developer apps to register, no per-platform review queues to babysit. Connect an account and post.

One response for every network

Publish to many accounts in one call and get back a single normalised shape, one post id and a per-target result, so you never branch your code per platform.

Where bundle.social is the better fit

We'd rather be honest than oversell. bundle.social is the better choice when:

A worked pricing example

Both charge for usage rather than seats, and both treat X as a real cost rather than pretending it is free. The difference is the size of the first paid step.

If you outgrow a free tier but are nowhere near ten thousand posts a month, the jump is the whole decision. Verify both sets of current pricing before committing, since these move. (Verify current figures on bundle.social's pricing page before relying on them, July 2026.)

Switching from bundle.social

Both are API-first, so this is mostly a URL and a response mapping:

  1. Create a free PostLake account and connect your social accounts. No developer apps to register, since platform keys are managed for you.
  2. Point your integration at PostLake. Use the REST API with a Bearer key, or connect your AI agent to the hosted MCP server over OAuth.
  3. Map the response. PostLake returns one normalised shape, a post id plus a per-target result, so most integrations need only light changes.

Common questions

Does bundle.social have more platforms?

Yes. Their list is longer, including Reddit, Mastodon, Slack and Discord. If your product needs those specifically, they are the better fit and we would say so.

Why is X charged separately on both?

Because X is the only major network that charges per post. bundle.social bills it through, and PostLake prices it into credits at a higher rate. Either way, someone is paying X.

What do the agent guardrails do?

They cap a single agent without capping your account: which brands it may post from, which networks it may reach, how many posts a day, and whether it may spend credits you bought up front.
